During wars, soldiers fought hard and some died for their countries. When they came home, they were recognized and decorated with ribbons of honor, which showed their levels of achievements, and ranks in the military.
In the world of business or in community involvement, people are also working hard, and fighting for the recognition as a leader in their field.
What makes a leader?
When you look in the mirror, do you see a leader? Do you believe that you have what it takes to lead a group of people? If you believe in yourself, and can answer the questions in the affirmative, it is a great start.
As we seek out the true definition of a leader, we ask ourselves what attracts people to follow us?
Vision, courage, determination and perseverance, are some of the key ingredients of leadership success. They are the raw materials to create what is required of us as a leader.
In addition, it is the message that we communicate to our followers about the vision that is based on mutually-held values.
To be successful as a leader, it is imperative that we pursue our personal growth, and work on our commitment, perseverance, courage and determination, to meet the expectations of the people who follow us.
It is of the utmost importance as we lead, that we communicate our clear vision for the organization, and display in our performance, a high level of an ethical standard.
